An Introduction to "How to Enjoy the Journey"

Our Sealing (December 13th, 2014)
Hey there family, and friends! We thank you for making the time to check out our blog. By way of intro- we are the Doane Family! My beautiful wife is Deezbaa, and I'm Dallas. We were recently married & sealed for time and all eternity in the Bountiful, Utah Temple, and are beginning a foundation to our own family. We are so grateful for the many blessings Heavenly Father has given us, and are so excited for our future together.

We decided to make this blog to share our journey with the world. From the beginning of the both of our lives up until the present we have been blessed to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, wherein the fullness of the Gospel (teachings) of Jesus Christ is taught. In other words, we're Mormons! :D As we began to combine our lives we realized even more how much importance the Gospel has in life, ESPECIALLY in terms of dating & marriage! And that is what we hope to share with all of you on this blog. We hope to share gospel principles and connect them with dating/marriage in order to show others how critical the gospel is particularly in this aspect of our lives.

Many people have different tactics, concepts, and techniques about how to get a date, how to get someone to fall in love with you, etc. If you're looking for specific techniques that are made up by the wisdom of man, you're looking in the wrong place. Everything we will post on this blog will be centered and founded on the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

Many of us have concerns with dating/marriage, for example:

-Lack of time
-Lack of self-confidence
-Can't seem to find the right one
-Can't get someone to like you back
-No one matching up to your standards
-Same-gender attraction
-Fear of commitment
-Don't know how to ask someone out
-Not sure if they're interested in you
-How to get a second date
-How to communicate feelings effectively
*The list goes on and on!

All of these concerns are legitimate, and very commonly encountered with those seeking to find their eternal companion. In Preach My Gospel, A Guide to Missionary Service, President Ezra Taft Benson stated: "Only the gospel will save the world from the calamity of its own self-destruction. Only the gospel will unite men of all races and nationalities in peace. Only the gospel will bring joy, happiness, and salvation to the human family" (The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson [1988], 167). We stand side by side with President Benson, and are confident in saying, "Only the gospel will teach one how to enjoy the journey of dating & eternal marriage."

We do not declare the things we post to be official church doctrine (unless quoted directly from the prophets), but we hope to share with you our experiences and insights that have come to us throughout our journey together. It is our hope and prayer that the things we share may help you or someone else to come unto Christ and begin your own journey to finding your eternal companion. :)

We bear our testimony to the world that Jesus Christ lives! He is our Savior and Redeemer. Through His Atonement, His suffering for our sins and fallen state, we can return to live with God with our families by exact obedience to His commandments. Joseph Smith was His chosen prophet, called to restore His church upon this earth and today Thomas S. Monson leads and guides that same church under the Lord's hand. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Bible as far as it is translated correctly. And God is our loving Heavenly Father, who knows each and every one of us individually. This testimony we leave with the world in the name of His Son, even Jesus Christ, amen.

We love you!
